Important Announcement for System Programming And Discrete Math

Attention UIC-ITE BSIT3A!!!

Our Teacher Ms. Michelle Dimas has sent me an IM regarding on our quizes. In relation with the upcoming event, the MR. and Ms. Intramurals, she is requiring us to attend on the said activity. Our attendance will be equivalent to one quiz in each of the two subjects. Failure to be there will leave us a quiz behind and may surely pull down our grades.

Whether demanded or not, in my humble opinion, we should be there to show support on our soon-to-be crowned UIC’s Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2008. We should cheer them up and make them more confident of winning. So we better be there to cheer, clap, and yell for victory! Weeeeh! Now that you are already informed, get ready and off you go because we have a battle to win!

Go Brylle, go Dang!

Tomorrow - Avril Lavigne

Tomorrow - Avril Lavigne

And I wanna believe you,
When you tell me that it’ll be ok,
yeah I try to believe you,
But I don’t

When you say that it’s gonna be,
It always turns out to be a different way,
I try to believe you,
Not today, today, today, today,(backround singer)today…

[Chorus:]

I don’t know how I’ll feel,
tomorrow, tomorrow
I don’t know what to say,
tomorrow, tomorrow,
yeah, it’s a different day,
tomorrow,

It’s always been up to you,
It’s turning around,
It’s up to me,
I’m gonna do what I have to do,
just don’t

Give me a little time,
Leave me alone a little while,
Maybe it’s not too late,
not today, today, today, today, today…

[Chorus:]

I don’t know how I’ll feel,
tomorrow, tomorrow
I don’t know what to say,
tomorrow, tomorrow,tomorrow
its a different day

Hey yeah yeah, hey yeah yeah, and I know I’m not ready,
Hey yeah yeah, hey yeah yeah, maybe tomorrow

Hey yeah yeah, hey yeah yeah, I’m not ready,
Hey yeah yeah, hey yeah yeah, maybe tomorrow

And I wanna believe you,
When you tell me that it’ll be ok,
Yeah I try to believe you,
Not today, today, today, today, today…

Tomorrow… it may change [4x]

Whatta day!

This day was intended to for searching companies for us todevelop a program or a website as a project for our Databse Management System Subject. We started past 10:00am which supposed to be 9:00 am, you know Filipino time…hehhehe. We walked from PNB bankerohan to malvar and we’ve gone door to door from clinic to clinic there… We faced different types of people, like orthodentist, doctors, and was almost to include obgyne!hahahaha.lol. I was very tired this morning because after our adventure to malvar, we began another journey to quirino to illustre… Our trip was meant for project purpose but we visited some computer stores and we even gone to g\Gaisano Illustre…hehehe… We went to microvalley, octagon, etc… It was in an optical clinic Illustre where we met this stupid sarcastic DDC nursing student who talks rudely and seem to reject us but he don’t speak right to the point.
The manager(not sure) let us gave them a number and they will just contact us whatever will decision be… We ettempted another clinic next to it but the owner was kinda strict and don’t deal with people well… I guess that explains why they don’t have much customers and their clicin don’t look good. After dealing with those people, we finally caught a very accomodating and friendly dentist and he accepted the deal without any hardships given to us… Then, the death mark started from there to san pedro Lachmi mall… for the intention of finding another company/store/organization, our fate brought us there. We entered the so called mall and we saw a guy watching porn on his computer! He has no shame after all but he minimized the media player small enough though… We deided to go home and prepare because we planned to attend the Davao Cyber Expo 2008 when my companion ask me and my other companion to accompany and walk with him to the place where he can look for a jeepney leading to them… Oh, it was a long walk!My feet were very tired and so exhausted! Huh! Whatta tiring day I had today!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height.
Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay them.

2. Keep only cheerful friends.
The grouches pull you down. (keep this in mind if you are one of those grouches;)

3. Keep learning:
Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening,
Whatever. Never let the brain get idle.
"An idle mind is the devil’s workshop."
And the devil’s name is Alzheimer’s!

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and lots of time with HIM/HER.

6. The tears happen:
Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. LIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love:
Whether it’s family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever.
Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health:
If it is good, preserve it.
If it is unstable, improve it.
If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don’t take guilt trips.
Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

11. And tell the wrong age!emoticon hahahaha!

College Life Tips!

Here are some effective and interesting college life tips! This may help you survive and enjoy college life!

Take Advantage of Your Student ID

Many students forget that their student ID is a gold mine for savings. In many towns, students get discounts at the movies, stores, museums, play houses, bars and even restaurants. So take advantage of your student ID and take it everywhere you go!

Read, Read, and then, Read Some More!

Read any assignments provided, and most importantly, read that syllabus! It´s given out for a purpose. If you have time to read leisurely, do so! Just the familiarity with texts will help improve your grammar, spelling, and communication skills.

Be Careful of Plagiarism

Stay alert in your writing and do not plagiarize. Sometimes you may read something and then unintentionally include it almost verbatim in a written report. These kinds of things happen, but try to prevent this by always citing your sources. Your professor will usually tell you which citation style to use. Professors know the tricks, and should you be reported, you can kiss your college career goodbye.

When to Apply

Unsure about when to start applying? Use a college planning calendar, checklist and timetable. Meeting deadlines is crucial, so plan ahead and allow plenty of time to choose the college that is right for you.

Research the Professor

Research the professor as well as the course. Many universities have a lot of flexibility when it comes to electives or when you can take a course. Take the time to find out who is teaching the course before you take it. Ask friends who know the professor and also go to the student union office where they can often give you the information you need. If you are already enrolled in a class with a professor who has a bad reputation, consider dropping the class and retaking it when it is taught by a professor whom you will enjoy.

Text Books

Be sure to purchase your text books used. Shop early to find the best selection. Also look into seeing if there are any off campus bookstores, they sometimes provide books at a lower cost. If you are lucky, your scholarship or loan will pick up the cost of books. However, even if your books are paid for, you should still try to find the lowest price so that you can keep the left over money. At the end of the semester…sell it back to the bookstore.

Don´t Be Afraid to Drop a Class

Knowing your limits involves knowing whether a class or a schedule is too overwhelming for you. If the class you are in is required, then try it again with a different professor. Different teaching styles work with different students. Don´t overuse this option, but know that it is there for you. Remember to check with your advisor and/or financial aid department before you drop a class to make sure you are still within your scholarship or student loan requirements.

I Hope this will hepl us! emoticon

A sad story of a soldier

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco.

"Mom and Dad, I’m coming home, but I’ve a favor to ask. I have a friend I’d like to bring home with me."

"Sure," they replied, "we’d love to meet him."

"There’s something you should know the son continued, "he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mind and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us."

"I’m sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."

"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."

"Son," said the father, "you don’t know what you’re asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can’t let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He’ll find a way to live on his own."

At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide. The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn’t know, their son had only one arm and one leg.

The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don’t like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who aren’t as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are. Thankfully, there’s someone who won’t treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.
